In 2001, Laurent Félix founded the BIFF office (which became a limited company in 2007) with the aim of making his experience and expertise available to project owners and architects.

In 2009, he strengthens the technical studies team of the façade with a team of building physicists.

In 2014, Raul Corrales takes over the technical direction of the office and becomes General Manager in 2019.

Today, as an expert, recognized façade designer and specialist in envelope energy evaluation, BIFF SA intends to distinguish itself in the market by its orientation towards innovative and sustainable engineering solutions, its mastery of multi-material solutions in the field of façades and its ability to provide tailor-made integral solutions for all construction or renovation projects of the envelope.

The management is assured by:

Raul Corrales (general manager)

An industrial engineer, specializing in mechanical engineering (UVI/2005), he specializes in the field of facades since 2006 after leaving an R&D company in the automotive field. As a draftsman, project manager and technical director of an international facade company, he is responsible for several international projects with more than 200,000 m² of highly technical facades realized, including projects for architects such as Norman Forster, César Pelli, Luis Vida, Paul Andreu, or SOM NY.

Laurent Felix (founder and still director of BIFF SA)

A civil engineer (ETSL/1980) by training, he specialized in the field of facades after 4 years of practice in concrete with the construction of several buildings in French-speaking Switzerland. After joining the family company Félix Constructions SA, he completed his training in the field of management (management engineer UTS/1987) and participated in the realization of more than 300 projects in Switzerland and abroad, representing approximately 500,000 m² of facades, as draftsman, engineer, project manager, director and then general manager respectively.

Realizing that his children would not take over the company, he left the operational side of the company Félix Constructions SA (sold in 2010 to the Fayat France family), and founded BIFF in 2001, which became BIFF SA in 2007. In 2004, he became a member of the UTS chamber of experts and of the AEC (Building Economists Association).

Energy consumption for heating and domestic hot water production accounts for more than 40% of total energy consumption in Switzerland. The energy saving potential of the existing building stock is considerable. Renovation is an obvious way to reduce energy costs.

As an actor in the building industry, BIFF SA is committed to working in favor of future generations through better energy management in buildings by devoting itself to the design of high energy performance envelopes, taking into account the lifespan of materials as well as other factors such as their recyclability or their grey energy.

This commitment to action is reflected in the constant development of its "energy" department, which complements the areas of activity of BIFF SA, and in the specialization of its engineers committed to sustainable and renewable design.

The knowledge and consideration of the various national and international certifications in the design of facades also allows us to work in favor of sustainable construction.

When renovating, the first sustainable development concern of BIFF SA employees is to keep the components of the envelope that are still in good condition or that can be reused rather than "throwing everything away."
